When the Collings Foundation B-24 visitied the Planes of Fame East, they had a piston shatter on the #4 engine while in flight. I was part of the crew that helped remove the engine and replace it with a spare engine they flew in from Florida.

Removing the prop from the damaged engine of the B-24. I had the job of helping to remove the prop dome. I was repaid with about a half gallon of oil being dumped on me when the dome finally came loose.

I helped their maintenance crew change the turbo-supercharger on engine number one while we were on the ground in Janesville, WI. The legs sticking out the top of the engine nacelle are mine.
