I love the way so many of his songs tell a story.  This <a href=\"http:\/\/phobos.apple.com\/WebObjects\/MZStore.woa\/wa\/viewAlbum?playlistId=80438359&#038;s=143441&#038;i=80437712\">particular song<\/a> is one of my favorites from him.  It is about the relationship between a mother and son.  I imagine I like it so much because I have such a great relationship with my mom.  Here are the lyrics from the second half of the song &#8212; which are just heart wrenching.  It is the part where his mom is dying.<\/p>\n<p><em>Well, I don&#8217;t think<br \/>\nShe can hear you now,<br \/>\nThe doctor told me<br \/>\nYour mother is fading,<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s best that you leave<\/p>\n<p>So I whispered,<br \/>\nI love you<br \/>\nAnd then turned away.<br \/>\nBut I stopped at the door<br \/>\nWhen I heard Momma say,<br \/>\nI love you, son,<br \/>\nBut they&#8217;re callin me away<\/p>\n<p>Promise me before I go<\/p>\n<p>When you come home,<br \/>\nNo matter how far,<br \/>\nRun through the door<br \/>\nAnd into my arms;<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s where you are loved,<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s where you belong,<br \/>\nAnd I will be here<br \/>\nWhen you come home,<br \/>\nWhen you come home.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Incidentally &#8212; Mark&#8217;s mom is just fine.
